Fly Fishing in Spring

Old Man Winter has finally loosened his choke-hold on North Texas, so what better way to celebrate spring than going fly fishing?

Now, where to fly fish?

April will find me chasing saltwater species from tropical spots.  Last year, the Seychelles, this year Belize.  I caught a nice bonefish in the Seychelles, so from Belize, I really, really want a Permit.  Trying to decide what flies to tie for the trip to catch those Permit is another issue altogether.  I have read Dick Brown's book, taken the lodge's fly selection in to consideration, and received valuable advice from David at Tailwaters FlyFishing Co.  However, with all this advice, many "go to" flies do not cross-reference with one another.  As a result, I have tied two different "go to" flies from each source, and then, tied tried-and-true classics.  My fly boxes are expanding in the hopes that there will be many new species added to my species list!
